Normally wine baskets are delivered to the receiver at his/her home or at work.
A diversity of unique wine baskets exists. Some baskets may include fruits, while others might include canned or dry foods or nonfood goods, or the basket may include a combination of such products. Gourmand gift baskets often include exotic fruits and valuable cheese, as well as other costly products.
Wine has a colorful historical background dating back hundreds and even thousands of years. Wine is usually made from one or sometimes more varieties of the European grape species, such as Merlot, Gamay, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir. If one of those grape varieties is used as the main grape, the result is a varietal wine. Blended wines are not regarded inferior to varietal wines. Some of the most gourmet wines, from regions like Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley, are blended from different grapes.
Basic fruit items in wine baskets are bananas, grapes, avocados, apples, artichokes, mangoes, lychees, papayas, oranges, lemons, pomegranates, pineapples, strawberries.
Dry and canned foods of a wine basket may consist of chocolate, bread, cheese, coffee, jam, honey, crackers, marmalade, cookies, soft drinks, tea, nuts.
Nonfood accessories typically include cash money, greeting cards, cut flowers, decorative plants, stuffed toys.
