Whom to Blame: Is it my SEO tools or is it Google?
I confess. Before hearing about SEO programs and site promotion field, I thought Google was great. I Googled anything from people, to pictures, to news to weird things and indiscriminately trusted the search outcomes. Then I found out about SEO tools and an entire business centered on Web promotion, and my attitudes were never the same. But even prior to my revelation, having done some reflective musings, I got a hunch that search engines, Google to boot, know far from everything, and pass on to the web community even less than what they know.
My Google experiences soon persuaded me that Flikr is a better image search source, that with the assistance of social bookmarking tools I can access interesting current events coverage without the need to rummage through Google SERPs (rummaging is more descriptive than Google search), and people search is better handled by Facebook. It seems that every time I look for odd objects on Google, the results are almost always messy, to put it mildly. Try Googling for SEO applications and other SEO relevant topics on Google and you are just about ready to give up your sanity. I mean, seriously, what’s the relationship between SEO programs and employment webpages or Web casinos? It happens in my disappointment.
So when news of seo software review and the whole industry revolving around it invaded my humble worldview, my doubts about webpages landing on the top of Google increased manifold. Do they deserve to be there and whose fault is it, Google or site promoters using SEO programs. The ethical dilemma is immense. Do I stop using my SEO google rank checker or do I stop using Google instead? I resolved that I can’t renounce myself from Google just yet. At least not till the decent contender enters the market. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will continue using my SEO programs.
Truth is that SEO tools is the reason why guys like myself get found on the Internet. smart as they are, search engine search algos are unlikely to find some average dude and rank his site well. In this respect, I am a strong advocate of SEO software and organic search. If it was all about the money, the corporate giants would squish me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of organizations on the Fortune roll! But here is another thing that irks me and other backlink checker users, I am certain. There are people who buy SEO programs and use them to sell shoeson career sites and such. What we are given is rubbish that not only pervades the web but is also highly valued by Google.
What is the public perspective on this? They search for SEO software reviews and will instead find disconnected SERPs. They get disenchanted. So much for the “Internet democracy”. Does this imply that SEO application and service industry is bad? Probably not.
The abusers of SEO software have to stop bastardizing the Web but it’s like asking hackers to stop hacking. The bad side about it is that black hat SEOs are abusing the chance to be visible on the Web that is given to the average dude like me. For now we just have to tolerate them. One can only wish that Google will put more effort into catching the schemers abusing SEO programs, and if Google doesn’t, the new search engine will.
