Immediately after the cessation of the Second World War the public commenced to feel that the world’s main values are clear and logical . Both politics and social relations were counting on the principles of development, good change , faith in the rational , understanding , technological advancement , and the potential to ground any happening from a analytical viewpoint . Notwithstanding , starting from the second half of the 60’s, the world began to change and currently , 40 years thereafter , we live in a new kind of reality .

They have turned our attention to the most vital issues of the last epoch ; those problems , which the humankind , having gone through the world wars and unprecedented number of deaths, was afraid to face . Lastly they were formulating the most critical issue “How will we live in the world of future?”
In this work we will mention some of the most famous writers of the last century. They have all significantly affected literature of their time, have showed looks and problems which were typical to their people and the period of time they were living in, and have made the readers think about the existing system of moral, having them realize that it is far from being perfect. One of the most interesting feature of their work is that in mostly they have evoked the person’s interest in books and written matter. In this aspect one of the most exciting success stories is that of a well known writer Anne Bronte .
The success of Joan Rowling can be named special as she has found herself to be the first writer in the world to earn $1 billion by publishing fairytales. She is now spending a huge part of her earnings on charity, confronting poverty and illness. The plot of the book was found while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first agreed to bring out her book, she has given her 1500 pounds together with a loving advice — to look for a stable job. He was hesitant of the fact that the young author would be able to make a living off of writing books. Joann has showed the opposite - having produced a series of unparalleled fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading people get back to reading.
This work is not able to enumerate and more or less exactly list all writers who have given their contribution to the world’s literature. They have been writing and putting ideas directly into the minds of the millions, and in this way were shaping the future. therefore, as we can see, these authors were not writing for enjoyment only, but they were also playing a considerable part in creating the culture and the sights of a civilization of the 20th century.
